Industrious scars are present upon Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula, of which, Porthoustock Bay is dominated by a silo, once used for storing aggregate from the now disused St.Keverne quarry. Today, the cove resonates in silence, where spatial interventions will return sound reverberations to the landscape through performance, upon Britain’s most southerly edge. The core of the design focuses on an intimate concert experience, creating a destination within the idyllic coastal landscape. The design immediately connects with the landscape, offering views out to the ocean at every opportunity, while providing spaces for sound, performance and instrumental practise.
