The 'Lost Food Lab' is a central hub which will improve the management of surplus and rotten food waste within the city and engage the community with the importance of preventing further depletion of natural resources. The unique process transforms food waste into new products, using a re-circulating and sustainable production method. The process: black soldier flies consume food waste, fly larvae is then hydrated to produce feed for the aquaponics system. Sustainable fish and vegetables are grown, harvested, cooked, and sold within educational, and engaging environments for the community. ​​
