Industrial buildings stand in the fabric of Britain’s architectural landscape; evoking distant memories of former industries and communities they sustained. The proposal for Saltaire’s New Mill is a residential arts space with craft teaching and learning workshops, gallery and shop featuring resident’s work, exhibiting Bradford’s Textile Archive. The project aims to address the relationship between the history of the textile industry in urban and cultural memory through contemporary use of the site.
